Three Mile Harbor Invades Iraq

In a recent care package to our Troops in Iraq, we included both a Three Mile flag and a camera. Below are some of the pictures and the letter we received back from the troops.

"Just a quick note. My name is Col. Alan Ecke and I am the deputy commander of the 800th MP Brigade and the Commandant of Camp Bucca EPW Camp in Um Quasr, Iraq. I received your package from BG Bowlas. I am a reservist and a retired NYC firefighter. I am also a boater and am from your neck of the woods. I am from Ridge and kept my boat in Sennex Marine in East Moriches.

Camp Bucca Ensignia

My unit is from Uniondale, NY by the Nassau Colliseum. I've been here now since December 2001. We handle all enemy prisoners of war for the U.S. and UK forces. Camp Bucca is named after Ronald Bucca who was a soldier in our unit and a NYC Fire Marshal. He perished on 9-11 om the World Trade Center.

The flag you sent was with me in Kuwait, Basrah, Um Qusar, Anasaryah and Baghdad. So as you see, it is well traveled.

If you could please send me a note of who to see at the marina, I would like to stop by on my return and give you a CD of all the pictures we took in Iraq and to personally thank you for your support.

I have taken pictures of Camp Buca where I am now stationed, but I will be going to move to Badhdad in a few days.
